Below, you can read an example of this week's Celebration Reminder.

Are you ready for another Sunday of Sacred Belonging?   As usual, we are holding our 9am and 11 am Celebrations at 330 Ellis Street, and livestreaming to Facebook and YouTube.  I hope you can join us this week, as we have a very special guest!

Guest preacher Rabbi Noa Kushner from The Kitchen will be lifting us up with her preaching this week.  Her new book, Pretend You Believe, will be available for purchase and signing between services.  Rabbi Kushner’s career has been distinguished by a drive to create Jewish spaces. After her ordination by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, she served as Hillel rabbi for Sarah Lawrence College and Stanford University. She is the founder of both The Kitchen and Hello Mazel, a subscription service of Jewish boxes, and is on the faculty of the Wexner Heritage Foundation.  Kushner has been profiled in SF Magazine’s Power Issue and in the final Newsweek / Daily Beast “Rabbis to Watch” list.

After service, I hope you join us for GLIDE’s sixth annual Phoenix Day: a family-friendly carnival style festival from 12pm-4pm. There will be carnival games, performances, free dolls, free haircuts, a firetruck, family activities, community resources, and more.

Please note the Prop 40 phone bank we were planning to hold Saturday October 17th (tomorrow) has been rescheduled to Saturday October 24th.

We are creating an All Saints Communion altar for our sanctuary: we invite you to bring photos or items you associate with your ancestor or loved one.  Digital phoots can be emailed to  churchoffice@glide.org and physical items can be dropped by the church office. Please note we cannot guarantee the return of every item so don’t bring anything irreplaceable.  But we would love your help making a beautiful altar that honors the ancestors of this congregation.
